The City’s newest park -- for our canine friends --was dedicated on June 5.  This City Council approved the construction in response to a request from a citizen’s group headed by Van Alder.  The City Council named the park Van Alder Dog Park to honor his contributions to the design and establishment of the park.  The park is situated under a canopy of trees -- providing much-needed shade.  Benches, watering areas and tables can be found in the park.  Please check out the rules and regulations governing the use of the park on the City’s website, or at the park.  Some key items to know are:

  • The park is for dogs only.
  • Dogs must be at least 6 months old.
  • They must have all of their vaccinations and be licensed
  • Two fenced areas provided:  One for small dogs and one for medium/large dogs
