Request for Sealed Bids - Pedestrian Enhancements on SR A1A Construction

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Daytona Beach Shores, Volusia County, Florida will receive sealed bids from interested and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) prequalified contractors with experience in construction on the state highway system. The job scope is for the construction and / or modification of pedestrian refuge islands and associated signing / striping improvements along with pedestrian signal enhancements at the intersection of State Road A1A and Dunlawton Avenue in the City of Daytona Beach Shores.  Bids will be received by the City of Daytona Beach Shores, Volusia County, Florida, at the City Hall, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida until 2:00 pm on Monday, August 8, 2016, at which time the receiving period will close and the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid received after the time and date specified above will be returned unopened.


A bid blank and plans are on file in the office of the City Clerk, who will provide a copy upon request.


Please submit five (5) copies of all bids in sealed envelopes addressed to the City Clerk, City of Daytona Beach Shores, 2990 S. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118 and plainly marked on the outsides: “SEALED BIDS – PEDESTRIAN ENHANCEMENTS ON SR A1A CONSTRUCTION.”      The City is not responsible for the U.S. Mail or private carriers or messengers regarding delivery to the City by the specified time. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any or all non-substantial irregularities in bids received whenever such rejection is in the best interest of the City, or to accept the proposal which best serves the interest of the City. In accordance with Florida Statutes 287.133 (2) (a), any person or affiliate who has been placed on the convicted vendor list following a conviction for a public entity crime may not submit a bid on a contract to provide any goods or services to a public entity, may not be awarded or perform work as a contractor, supplier, subcontractor, or consultant under a contract with any public entity, and may not transact business with any public entity in excess of the threshold amount provided in Section 287.017, for Category Two for a period of 36 months from the date of being placed on the convicted vendor list.
