  • Mah-Jongg: Thursdays, set-up 11:45 a.m.; play 12-3 p.m. Members free; nonmembers $1.  NO CLOSED GAMES.  

  • Backgammon Club: Fridays 10:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. All levels welcome, will teach beginners. Members free; nonmembers $1.   

  • Zumba Gold: Licensed Instructor Gladys Colon. Tuesdays 10:45-11:30 a.m. and Thursdays 8:45-9:30 a.m.    Dance your way to a fitter you! Exciting, unique Latin & International moves & rhythms! $7; $30.00 per 6-class card Community & Senior Center members. 

  • Tai Chi:  Mondays, 1-2 p.m.  Certified Instructor Deynaire Townsend.  $7 per class.  Consists of full body movements that involves legs, internal energy, and simple choreography.  NO CLASS SEPTEMBER 3.

  • Guitar Lessons:   Wednesdays 1:30-3:00 P.M.  Instructor Mike Williams.  For beginner level players.  $8.00 per class.  Loaner instruments available.  ON HOLD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. 

  • Samba:  Canasta card game variation of Hand & Foot.  Fridays 11:00 A.M.  Will teach beginners.  Members free; nonmembers $1.00.

  • FEATURED CLASS BellyFit:  New York Dance Instructor Layla.  Tuesday, October 23, 9:45-10:30 a.m.; Monday, December 10, 9:30-10:15 a.m.  Class to include Veil Technique and Finger Cymbals with Undulations/Hips/Shimmys. $7.00 per class.

  • Travel Presentation: Tuesday, October 30, 1:00 p.m. Premier World Discovery will present information on the Hawaii trip and other upcoming trips.

Senior Center Activities for All Ages

Morning Activities:

  • Beginner’s Yoga:  Instructor Dena Townsend, RYT, Mondays 8:30-9:30 A.M. and Wednesdays 9:30-10:30 A.M. These classes will be an hour long and will focus on gentle, restorative yoga.  Open to all ages.  $7.00 per class or $36.00 for 6 classes for Community Center or Senior Center members.   NO CLASS SEPTEMBER 3.

  • Yoga Classes:  Instructor:  Dena Townsend, RYT.   Mondays 10:00 - 11:30 A.M. and Wednesdays 11:00 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.  Fee:  $8.00 per class or $42.00 for 6 classes for Community Center or Senior Center members.   

  • Pilates:  Instructor:  Wendy Psomas, Certified Trainer.  Create an evenly conditioned body from the inside out.  Tuesdays 10:00 A.M.   $36 per 6-class session of Community Center and Senior Center members, $7.00 per class for nonmembers. 

  • Jewelry Beading Class: Friday, October 19, 12:00-3:00 p.m. (Daydreamer Bracelet) Instructor Donna Shamlaty. $25 per class. All materials are included. Advanced registration with payment is required the Tuesday prior. Project on display in Senior Center.

  • Oil Painting Class:  Bob Ross Certified Instructor Rosetta.  October 20, 9:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (Sunset) $25 Includes supplies. Pre-registration with payment by Thursday prior or until class is filled.

  • Zentangle Meet-Up East Volusia:  October 13, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 pm. Join a group of Zentangle friends (all experience levels) for creativity and conversation. Recommended love offering of $3 to cover expenses, but don’t let $$ keep you away. Bring what you have been working on or just show up to find out what this fascinating method of simple pattern drawing is all about! All are welcome.

  • Acrylic Painting Class:  Instructor Heather Pastor.  November 3, 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. painting on wood.  $25 includes all supplies.  Snacks and beverages welcome.  Registration with payment due  prior to class. 

  • Dominos (Mexican Train):  All Aboard!  LOOKING FOR NEW PLAYERS.  Thursdays, 10:30 A.M.  All levels welcome.  Toot Toot!  Free to members; $1.00 nonmembers.

Evening Activities:

  • Acoustic Music Jam:  Thursdays, 6:00-8:00 P.M.  Free!  Bring your instrument and play or just sit back and enjoy the music. “Old Time, Traditional Country, Bluegrass and Folk.”    Snacks and beverages welcome.  Please call for more information. .

  •  Ukulele Lessons:  Thursdays, 5:00-6:00 P.M.  Instructor Stan Ukule-ley.  Cost is $5.00 a lesson, includes loaner instrument. Fun and affordable musical experience!  Ages 12 and up welcome.  


Off Site Activities:

  • Pickleball Open Play:  McElroy Park.  Daily 8:00 A.M.-10:00 P.M.  Ten dedicated Pickleball Courts with lights.  All ages and skill level welcome.  Equipment available for loan in Senior Center.  Courts closed October 26 & 27 for open play.

  • Introduction to Pickleball:  Mondays 9:00 A.M.   Must pre-register for class two days prior.  Four players needed to hold class.  Paddles and ball provided.  PLEASE CALL FOR NEXT AVAILABLE DATE.

  • 2018 Fall Pickleball Tournament:  Friday, October 26, Men’s and Women’s Doubles, 8 a.m.  Saturday, October 27, Mixed Doubles, 8 am.  Volunteers wanted for 4-hour shifts Friday/Saturday 8 am-12 pm and/or 12-4 pm for the Pickleball Tournament.  Lunch provided for volunteers.
