Bank drafting is a free service offered by the City of Daytona Beach Shores for all customers which allows your checking or savings account to be debited for the amount of your bill each month. Paying has never been so easy! The City is proud to utilize advanced microcomputer technology to provide our customers with the most efficient and convenient means of paying monthly utility bills.
This program is ideal for seasonal customers, senior citizens, and those who travel often. It is also great for businesses whose check writing process is complicated and lengthy. Bank drafting eliminates check writing and saves money on postage! It also prevents late fees and service interruptions.
You will continue to receive bills from the City so you know exactly how much money will be drafted. We always make drafts on your regular due date which is the 15th of the month. If the due date falls on a weekend or holiday, we'll wait until the next business day.
First of all, customers must be using a financial institution within the United States to be eligible. This is because we use the Automated Clearing House (ACH) of the Federal Banking System to process your transactions.
To initiate bank drafting, simply fill out the form and return it to the City's Finance/Utility Department. If you will be drafting from a checking account, you must attach a voided check from the account you want us to use. If you choose a savings account, ask your financial institution for its Bank Transit Number to complete the form. It's that easy!
It will take between one and two billing cycles after we receive your request. When the service is activated on your account, you will see a message on your bill that reads: Bank Draft - Do Not Pay. All bills received prior to the bank draft start date must be paid in the normal manner. Any questions, please contact the City of Daytona Beach Shores Finance Department /Utility Payments at 386-763-5326.
