NEW COMMUNITY CENTER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
June 2017 Update
During the month of June concrete operations of which included vertical formwork, concrete reinforcement, pouring concrete columns, beams, and shear walls were performed.
Crews also formed, reinforced and poured the second floor west balcony. Concrete masonry operations continued with installation of masonry units, reinforcing and grouting vertical fill cells and horizontal bond beams.
Masonry wall construction also included the careful layout and placements of all required structural steel embed plates.
AMWC directed all subcontractors to begin preparing for the arrival of the structural
steel package. All unnecessary scaffolding, equipment and materials shall be stored
outside the building to ensure proper workspace.
During this month we also continued to work closely with the Design Team regarding
the issuance of structural revisions and changes. These revisions have impacted the
construction schedule and the concrete and masonry subcontractors have now
requested an additional three-week extension to their contract time. The full extent of
the impact is still under review, and yet to be fully determined.
While a great deal of vertical work was completed in June, several severe weather
storms have impacted our progress. Eleven (11) days of rain and lightning cancelled all
work operations. The inclement weather also caused concrete pours to be rescheduled
to following days creating further delays.
- NEW UPDATE: THE BOCCE BALL AND SHUFFLE BOARD COURT AREA IS NOW OPEN AND AVAILABLE FOR PLAY!
